New Student: A person that has never before attended a college or univeristy.
Returning Student: A person who has previously attended CATC but has not been enrolled for a semester (Fall or Spring).
Transfer Student: A person who has been previously enrolled at another college or univeristy.
Non-Degree Seeking Student: A person who is going to take courses for professional or personal enrichment, but does not seek to earn a degree or certificate.
Ability to Benefit Student: A person who does not posses a high school diploma or GED certificate must show an ability to benefit to enroll at CATC.
High School Dual Enrollment: High school juniors and seniors, currently attending public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, Ascension Parish, West Felician Parish, Zachary Community School District, and Central Community School District who are concurrently enroll in a college course.
Continuing Education Student: A person taking corporate and industry specialized training that is noncredit and typically there are no transcripts or grades. Noncredit courses are open to interested persons without regard to eligibilty for admission to college-credit programs.
Occupational Education Student: An instructor who needs to work toward their associate degree or to just certify in their field.
International Student: A person who has a green card or H4 visa.
Apprenticeship Program: A person will take classes through the local union for their field of study.
GED Preparation Program (JAG): A person between the ages of 16 and 21 who wants to earn his/her GED.
